Floor Lead Lining Installation Notes
- USE A GOOD CONTACT CEMENT OR FLOORING ADHESIVE MASTIC. A LOW VOC ADHESIVE MAY BE REQUIRED IN SOME STATES OR ACTIVE MEDICAL ENVIRONMENTS.
- MAKE SURE FLOOR IS CLEAN AND FREE OF ALL DUST OR OILS.
- MAKE SURE IS FLOOR IS PREPARED, SMOOTH, LEVEL AND FLAT AS ANY IMPERFECTIONS WILL "PHOTOGRAPH" THROUGH (LEAD IS NOT A "FILLER").
- MAKE SURE LEAD IS DEGREASED AND FREE OF ALL OIL.
- OVERLAP ALL JOINTS BY A MINIMUM OF 1/2"+.
- USE GOOD VENTILATION AND FAN / EXHAUST ALL AIR TO OUTSIDE OF BUILDING; AWAY FROM ANY OCCUPANTS IN SURROUNDING AREAS.
- NO OTHER TRADES OR PERSONS SHOULD OCCUPY ROOM DURING INSTALLATION OF FLOOR LEAD.
- USE HEAVY FLOOR ROLLER OR HIT WITH BLOCK OF WOOD AND MALLET TO SET LEAD FLAT.
- USE ALL CORRECT LEAD HANDLING PROCEDURES. (IE: NO EATING, DRINKING OR SMOKING IN LEAD WORK AREAS, WASH HANDS AFTER HANDLING, DO NOT CUT WITH POWER TOOLS, ETC.)
- PROTECT LEAD FROM FOOT TRAFFIC "TRACKING"
- USE PROTECTIVE GLOVES AND DUST MASKS.
- MAKE SURE YOU ARE IN COMPLIANCE WITH ALL OTHER STATE, FEDERAL OR LOCAL SAFETY CODES, LAWS, REGULATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS IN YOU AREA.
- FLOOR LEAD INSTALLATION MUST BE PRIOR TO FINISH FLOORING, CABINETRY OR EQUIPMENT INSTALLATION.
