What can I store in a lead shielded safe?
These safes are designed for radioactive vials, syringes, sealed sources, generators and small waste containers. They are not intended for large-volume drums or bulk waste, which are better suited to decay drums or large mobile containers.
How do I choose the right lead thickness?
The required Pb thickness depends on isotope energy, activity and how long materials remain in the safe. Many facilities use higher-thickness models for PET and high-energy isotopes, and lower-thickness models for SPECT or low-activity storage. Your radiation safety officer or medical physicist should confirm shielding requirements.
Can shielded safes be stacked safely?
Yes. Our safes are engineered to be stackable in multi-row configurations, such as 4 × 3 setups. When installing stacked systems, the support structure and floor load-bearing capacity must be verified according to local regulations.
