Our lead lined hollow metal doors are constructed of A60 galvannealed and cold rolled steel faces, internal lead lining, internally steel stiffened, and fiberglass insulated. Steel stiffening is used to provide a steel barrier which is unaffected by moisture, humidity or temperature changes that could otherwise warp the lead door. Fiberglass insulation is used for heating and cooling benefits as well as to improve the STC rating.
Our standard lined hollow metal door is 3/0 x 7/0 HM with a 1/16'' lead equivalency. Lead equivalency is the measure of the door's ability to attenuate radiation. The lead equivalency is determined by the thickness of the lead lining.
